Tiempo

Tiempo is an AI-based tool designed to increase online productivity and limit distractions. It operates as a Chrome extension, applying AI to interpret your browsing behaviors and guide your focus towards achieving set goals. After setting a goal for a browsing session, Tiempo’s on-screen widget provides a ‘Focus Score’, reflecting how your current browsing aligns with your set goal. When your actions deviate from your objective, the tool initiates a Friction Page, a disruptive overlay that prompts reconsideration of your online activity.Tiempo works by sampling text fragments from the page a user is viewing and merges this with publicly accessible domain data to understand the content at hand. It then applies an AI model to determine the likelihood of the page supporting the accomplishment of the user’s goals. If the content is evaluated as irrelevant, the tool will provide an alert.Ensuring maintaining privacy, Tiempo implements several safeguards to avoid collecting potentially sensitive information. While it is currently free for use, users are encouraged to provide feedback for continued improvements. Conceived by former Facebook employees, the mission of Tiempo is to redeem computers and mobile devices as productivity-enhancing tools.
